With a music career spanning over 20 years and a Grammy nomination under his belt, Clint Maximus is a dance music oracle. Weekdays from 4pm – 8pm, Clint’s Sunset Sessions on Ibiza Global Radio UAE are the ideal soundtrack as day slips into night. The DJ, producer and presenter makes the drive home heaps more fun. “I play cool, edgy tracks you won’t hear on any other station in the UAE,” says Clint.
Born in the UK and raised in the Seychelles, Clint Maximus bagged his first job in radio when he was just 15 years old. With his radio show The Edge syndicated to 30 stations around the globe, Clint amassed millions of listeners worldwide. He’s interviewed the best in the business, including legends like Sasha, Pete Tong, Roger Sanchez and Deadmua5. As a DJ, he earned his stripes behind the decks at London’s Ministry of Sound and Beirut’s BO18. Rocking crowds of 20,000 people, he has shared the stage with huge names like Major Lazer, Avicii, Tiësto and Paul Oakenfold.
Specialist
With an unbridled passion for electronic music, Clint jumped at the chance to join Ibiza Global Radio UAE in 2020. “Ibiza Global Radio UAE allows me to be more specialist and focus on the music I’m really into. It’s the perfect fit,” he says. “With quality dance music at its core, the station is creating a great hub for international and local talent.”
Clint’s Sunset Sessions dive into a spectrum of lush sounds, picking up pace as the evening descends. Expect organic house and minimal through to deep house and deep tech. Enjoy guest sets direct from Ibiza, live sets from Clint himself and insightful chats with local and international industry players. “Carl Cox is top of my interview hit list,” says Clint. “It would be amazing to chat to Carl about his unbelievable career.”
Talented Producer
Justifiably proud of his 2015 Grammy nomination for Hold On, the talented producer makes music under a number of alias, including Clint Maximus and Game Chasers. But keep your ears pinned back for his new deep house project Waste Only, with Ray Sam. Their single The Traveller will drop on Marylebone Records Limited in time for Miami Music Week.
When he’s not in the radio studio or making tunes, Clint enjoys road-trip adventures across the UAE. “I’m always out and about exploring new places,” he says. “I moved from Beirut to Dubai to join the station and I’m still discovering all that the UAE has to offer.” But he doesn’t need to travel far to enjoy his perfect sunset. “My ideal moment is sitting on my balcony at home listening to a melodic playlist as the sun dips and the night lights of Dubai start to twinkle. It really is a magical place to live and work.”
