It’s the news that millions of clubbers and electronic music lovers around the world have been awaiting for years. And this week, renowned Ibizan businessman and founder of the iconic Space Ibiza, Pepe Roselló, finally confirmed that he is planning to open a new musical venue in 2022.
Talking to Periódico de Ibiza and Formentera, Roselló revealed he has already found the location for his new project, a restaurant in the Ses Variades area of Sant Antonio. Situated in the Posta de Sol building, it will be named Space Sun Beach.
This heavy nod to his most legendary – and muchly missed – project to date, the now defunct Space Ibiza nightclub, will have music connoisseurs from all over the world excited!
But while Roselló acknowledged that the music restaurant will be reminiscent of the original Space, he explained that, “above all it will be a testimony to the musical legacy that José Padilla left us. He will be the king of music.”
Furthermore, in a perhaps unexpected twist, Space Sun Beach will also offer a musical home to “the best voices in world of opera: Maria Callas, Renata Tebaldi, Joan Sutherland, Plácido Domingo.”
So… Balearic beats infused with operatic drama and stunning sunset views? Get ready for the goosebumps to POP.
In further exciting news, Roselló also hinted that he will “keep the spirit of Space alive” with another project slated for the summer of 2022 – although he preferred to not say anything more until the ink is dry on the contract.
It looks like we already have a huge amount to be excited for in 2022!
