Mission Control: Inside Ibiza Global Radio UAE
The home of cutting-edge dance music, Ibiza Global Radio UAE 95.3FM broadcasts from one of the most futuristic studios on the planet. Our brand new studio is, quite simply, off the hook. Morning Sounds presenter Georgina B likens it to a mini nightclub. Sunset Sessions host Clint Maximus calls it the best set-up he’s come across in over 20 years in radio.
The studio is the beating heart of our modern work space in Dubai’s Ibn Battuta Gate. Kitted out with the latest tech, it’s perfectly designed for live DJ sets. DMX controlled lighting allows presenters and guest DJs to set the ambience – from fresh sunrise hues to vibrant nightclub colours. LA artist Taz Roc’s custom graffiti tagging the scene’s best DJs adds an extra funky touch.
Acoustically Perfect
Drawing upon his wealth of experience in radio, Ibiza Global Radio UAE Managing Partner Theo Makris drafted the initial studio design. “I listened to input from our programming team and also asked local DJs for feedback,” reveals Theo. “I’m really proud of what we have created together. Acoustically perfect, the studio is an amazing environment for DJs mixing great sets.”
Operational on the famous party island since 2004, Ibiza Global Radio boasts an incredible pedigree. It was Theo’s idea to bring the legendary station to this part of the world. “There’s a certain uniqueness to what Ibiza Global Radio offers in terms of electronic music styles. With Dubai’s electronic music scene and diversity growing exponentially, the UAE was ready for this kind of station.”
Underground Sounds
Ibiza Global Radio UAE hit the airwaves in August 2020, bringing welcome relief to clubheads seeking more underground sounds. Broadcasting 24/7 via 95.3FM and our streaming platforms, dive into our exciting programme of shows from international DJ superstars, Ibiza legends and the best local DJs.
Our mission at Ibiza Global Radio UAE is clear. “We plan to keep growing our audience without ever compromising the quality of music we play,” says Theo. “It’s important to build really loyal and dedicated listeners who love what we do. We’ll also keep representing the local DJ scene, acting as a conduit for local talent to shine.”
And here’s a little tip – get ready to look out your dancing shoes. We’re planning to throw Ibiza Global Radio UAE parties as soon as dancefloor restrictions are fully lifted.
